rome-ing around
whenever i go to a city, especially as a blogger, it's inevitable that i have to hit up the big ticket stops (like here and here) but there is nothing i love more than just exploring some of the main touristy areas at our own leisure. ashley and i started off our morning around the ruins around palatine hill and while we may have gotten there relatively early at 9am, compared to our other early morning wake up calls, this was a welcomed change!
we then started to walk towards the spanish steps to do a little damage to the old amex at the shops in that area. i even splurged and picked up this bag because it was love at first sight (don't forget to check out my post all about the benefits of shopping in europe)!! i also fell in love with these shoes in a raffia material but sadly they didn't have my size so i will continue the search for them! after a stop at lunch at a cute little café in the area, we wanted to walk around the area of the steps themselves. it was crazy to see the difference between when we went at 5:30am (post to come soon) and during the day - there would have been no way to get the shot!
after all of our walking and shopping, ashley and i decided to end the day with a cocktail at a rooftop bar near our hotel. truly the perfect end to the perfect day!
and while part of my job is going to these incredible places and creating content, it can get quite overwhelming. to be honest, i have so much content backlogged that i am dreading the task of going through all of the photos. so you all may have noticed that i have not been posting as much on either my blog or my instagram. but i'm determined to refocus myself this week to really power through the thousands of photos (yes, thousands), edit, and post them! i seriously cannot wait to keep sharing everything with you all so stay tuned!
