hello boho

it has been so long since i have worn something a little more on the bohemian side...at least not since peasant skirts were cool in middle school #neverlookback. recently, my eye has been going towards a more relaxed silhouette: the ones that are loose but still flattering (even after chipotle). this dress had everything that i look for (comfort, high neck, sleeves, and pockets) so i thought i would pair it with a shoe that was a little outside my comfort zone.

knee-high gladiator sandals have been popping up every spring and summer for the last few years and i have been procrastinating trying them out for myself. and granted, i'm still a little unsure about them on me. being a former dancer (and current resident on a 5th floor walk-up) my calves are slightly on the muscular side, which makes shopping for these types of shoes all the more difficult.

i love how these sandals had both the zipper and the tie so i knew i could adjust them to fit my calves - and i prefer the way the crisscross of the ties look! this season, i will make a conscious effort to step a little more outside my comfort zone...but until then, it is baby steps with this *slightly* bohemian look.
