meet me at the met
as i mentioned in this post, my family takes art very seriously. so when i was given a year's membership to a museum of my choice, i knew i needed to maximize every minute! i selected the met to be my museum of choice for many reasons: mainly the rooftop bar, but don't tell my mom that. as a member of the met, i patiently awaited for my met gala invitation to come in the mail but i may have underestimated my contribution to the museum by a couple hundred thousand dollars. i moved onto plan b and the met young member's party became my next best option!
i teamed up with fellow bloggers katie and mollie for a night of goofy snapchats and endless bottles of rosé! i began the preparation for the event with a mandatory trip to drybar (even though i was well aware the hairdo was only going to last about 30 minutes). i was completely unsure of what i was going to wear to this event. i was initially hesitant to wear a black dress to a summer soirée but decided to go with it anyways! because i felt fabulous in it...duh! this dress has been over-worn but rarely photographed and knew this event was its time to shine! although i ended up splurging on this dress, i have linked my favorite affordable little black dresses below!
we, of course, showed up fashionably late and immediately headed straight to the bar. we explored all of the exhibits as well as the rooftop, where we ended up spending the majority of out time. i have to say, watching the sunset on the roof of the met is the most stunning sight and i would kill for a view like that everyday! as the evening wore down, so did my pain tolerance for my shoes, and we headed home with another summer night for the books!
