friday favorites | 6.5.20
it has been a heavy week but one that i know is necessary for the change of this country. in light of everything going on, earlier this week i made the decision to “mute” all personal content both here and on instagram in an effort to amplify melanated voices. as a white woman, i recognize my privilege and i wanted to take this time to listen and educate myself on how to be a better ally. while i may have been “muted,” i have been far from silent. the past week i have been sharing anti-racism resources, insightful movies and documentaries, organizations to donate to that support the black lives matter movement, black-owned businesses, and black creators within the influencer community. this week has been eye opening and i know we all have a long way to go, but let this be the first of many steps needed to address and change the racism in our country. i am focused on making changes in how i live and work and know it is the time to more than “not racist,” but actively anti-racist.
so this week’s friday favorites is going to look a little different than usual. i’ve compiled so many of these tools that i have found useful and i hope you will too.
