london // the final few
after some jam-packed days in london, it was about time to say goodbye to the brits and head to venice. we decided to lay low on our final day and do the few things that were still on our list. immediately after breakfast at our hotel, we headed over to kensington palace and the surrounding gardens (as if we hadn't seen enough palaces).
we could have spent hours in the gardens alone but finally went inside the palace for a detailed look at queen victoria's life - and we actually remembered a lot about her thanks to our tour guide alastair from the windsor castle trip! ...she was the one who married her cousin. kensington palace also had dresses worn by princess margaret and princess diana - i was in awe of the detail in each of the gowns!
we then found ourselves wandering the gardens again before grabbing a bite to eat at a small café just down the street from the palace. we were, however, secretly hoping to casually bump into william and kate but they must not have gotten the memo that we were in town.
after lunch, i realized i still hadn't taken the iconic london phone booth picture! we quickly found the nearest red phone booth and crossed one more thing off of the list.
another thing was still on our list was tea time! we scurried back to the hotel, as they have one of the cutest outdoor tables and their china went so well with my manic trout bracelet!
and the final stop on our agenda was of course, the tower bridge. the line was too long to go see the crown jewels (next time we know to get there earlier!), so we settled for a stroll on the bridge followed by the way all things should end -- with ice cream!
until next time london -- cheers!
