la vie en rosé
i don't think it comes as a surprise that the veuve clicquot polo classic is my favorite event of the year! this is the third time i have attended the event and not without my favorite champagne partner in crime, dana - read about our first and second years too! at this point, dana and i have become experts at mastering the polo classic and, in my opinion, we completely nailed it this year. we hopped on the first ferry to liberty state park, where the match is held, and stood right by the door so we could be the first ones off...can you tell we were excited? although this is our third year, it was only our second year in the rosé garden. being one of the first to arrive, we were able to park ourselves at some prime real estate right up front to watch* the match.

with the addition of the rich veuve clicquot line to the menu, the drink vouchers were handled a little differently. this year, guests were allowed to purchase two additional drinks with their already included bottle of champagne. i obviously opted for the rich mixed drinks seen in the first picture but not without finishing a bottle of rosé to kick off the festivities. they even let me keep the vcpc cork from my bottle! i quickly tucked it away to my little pink bag. shortly after the match began and for the first year, we actually watched some of it!
when it came to planning my outfit, there was really no hesitation. i found this skirt about two months ago knowing i would wear it to this event! i wanted my skirt to be the statement so i decided to keep my accessories neutral...and by neutral i mean pink! these earrings were the perfect compliment to my skirt and they went so well with my pink sunglasses!
of course, the match included the classic divot stomping...oh, and a little performance by alicia keys! i didn't want the day to end because it would mean another 365 days until the next polo classic. that is unless dana and i go to the polo classic in los angeles. so you better stay tuned!
