until next year, fall!

i am fully aware that i keep saying this but i am so behind on my photos! especially now that my photography program is in full swing at icp, my free time for my own photos is basically non-existent at this point. so i’m finally able to feature one of my favorite and comfiest dresses of the summer! i wore this dress out east when i escaped the craziness of nyfw this season with ashley…oh yeah and it has pockets!
because i’m basically up to my eyeballs in work, i’m keeping this post short and sweet! so enjoy! haha

i know, i know…it’s no longer hydrangea season…but hey! better late than never! when i got back from my trip to rome, i found myself essentially drowning in unpublished content, which i’m aware is not necessarily the worst problem to have but i just couldn’t keep up with it all! so instead of powering through and editing all of the photos, i just let them sit there and procrastinated. i procrastinated so much that i am now posting an outfit from july…and would you believe me if i told you my last post was taken back in may??? oopsies.
dress: giambattista valli (also love the off-the-shoulder version)
shoes: raye (also have the black)

with the end of summer nearing, i’m trying to squeeze in my last few floral dresses. so when i went home to detroit a few weeks ago, i carved out just enough time to photograph this kate spade dress (first seen on my instagram here) from my favorite view of detroit…in canada! so i grabbed my passport and headed across the river to windsor, ontario to get these photos at sunset.
while most passing people in new york are used to the typical blog shoot, the residents of windsor were not quite sure what to make of it so to say i got a lot of looks would be an understatement haha! but it was all worth it because these are some of my favorite photos i’ve taken while back home!

with a sharp contrast to the last post on prêt-à-provost where ashley and i leisurely went to the spanish steps during the middle of the day and there were swarms of people everywhere, this 5:30am call time gave us all the time to truly enjoy this tourist hotspot all to ourselves! well that was until the three guys who were still out from the night before left from the top of the steps...

if you have been following along on my instastories, it has been quite the adventurous few weeks for me. i began my roughly two week long trip with a family wedding in puerto vallarta, mexico. but while i may have absolutely loved the outfit that i was going to wear to the ceremony, i knew i wanted to be sure to exclude any blogging or photography (aside from iphone photos of course) during those days with my family. mostly because my parents may be used to my blogging ridiculousness, but my extended family definitely isn't...and i didn't think this was the opportunity to expose them to that side of me haha! but about a month ago, i saw this beyond incredible dress on karen of where did u get that and needed it immediately knowing it would be perfect for this beachside wedding. knowing i wasn't going to be shooting this in mexico, i decided to get a jump start and use this dress as an excuse to do my favorite springtime activity: rowing boats in central park! and i'm especially thankful to lydia because just days earlier she witnessed someone fall in the lake trying to take a photo...needless to say she was scarred and i offered that we used my equipment this day!
dress: self portrait (also love this version here)
shoes: valentino
earrings: tory burch
bracelets: cartier
sunglasses: dolce and gabbana
i know what you're all thinking...i just travel for the instagrammable spots. and you're definitely right about that haha! but what most people don't know is that a lot of work goes in to finding these adorable (and sometimes delicious) spots and then tracking them down. so i'm going to make it extra easy for you if you ever find yourself in nashville and in need of an instagram! when ashley and i were prepping for this trip, i made a powerpoint...yes you heard that correctly...a powerpoint of all the locations we wanted to hit up. and then within this powerpoint, i included opening hours if it was a business or which direction it was facing so we would know the best time to go (aka for the sun). some may call it crazy but i call it efficient. because we only had one full day to fit this all in. talk about crunch time!
dress: kate spade (also love this version)
bag: kate spade
shoes: madewell
bracelets: cartier
earrings: vanda jacintho
sunglasses: illesteva (old, similar here)
over the past few months, i've done quite a bit of detective work...so i figured i should probably dress accordingly for my new self-appointed role in society. after the large nordstrom package that was stolen from my apartment lobby back in december, i was in contact with quite a few detectives in the 19th precinct here in nyc. and i have to say...they could have done better dressing the part. so i'm helping them out! haha! once i found this trench, everything else fell into place. all i'm missing is my magnifying glass and i'll be sure to catch the thief who stole my package (and the two others from a few weeks ago)!
Read Morei think we all know i'm a sucker for pink. so when i found out i was going to be heading back to charleston, i was determined to hunt down the famous pink door! with the aid of southern expert ashley, i tracked town the door in seconds! located at 126 tradd street just south of broad, it did not disappoint! and knowing i was going to be bringing my pink bike this door served as the perfect location to compliment my ride and all of my favorite pink pieces!
Read Morei think it goes without saying that i adapted to southern living (and dressing) with ease and i knew that my suitcase wouldn't have been complete without a plethora of gingham! i purchased this gingham top months ago in anticipation of some warmer days and i was so excited to finally wear it in savannah! i loved pairing it with it's gingham mansur partner-in-crime and this stunning floral skirt to complete the perfect southern belle look! now if we could just tackle the heat and humidity in the south in the summer and then i would actually live there full-time!
Read Moreafter participating in new york's fashion week for a few seasons now, the glitz, glamour, and allure have worn off just slightly. but that doesn't mean i don't get giddy seeing new and fabulous designs come down the runway! this season, i had the amazing opportunity to attend the kate spade presentation and it's safe to say having worked for the company on and off since 2012 (and only recently leaving in october) it was literally a dream come true! i had never attended the presentation before and was like a kid in a candy store walking in. but attending my first kate spade presentation, i couldn't show up in just anything! i originally had planned on wearing this dress but after trying it on, it was just a little too much for me. so i opted for this fun shirtdress that was beyond comfortable! which came in handy because in addition to being in front of the camera for part of the day, i had to wear it behind the camera as well!
Read Morethe final countdown to christmas has begun but where did the time go?? anyone else feel like they have 2 more weeks to prepare? this year, my holiday closet is prepped with tons of plaid so i figured i would start with a little pinch of lace. this super romantic dress is the perfect option when you don't want to scream christmas, but still festive enough that you're family won't claim you're the grinch. now i'm off to go buy everyone's christmas presents because i'm the master at procrastination! oops!
Read Morei hopped off the plane at lax with my boater hat and a bottle of veuve in hand...and ready to attend the eighth annual veuve clicquot polo classic in los angeles! now many of you know that dana and i are regulars at the veuve polo classic in new york city so you can imagine our excitement when we made the decision to head to the west coast! we had no idea what to expect aside from the whole "champagne" thing haha but there were definitely some differences.
Read Morefall is officially here but that doesn't mean mother nature is quite caught up with the times as yesterday's temperatures were in the high 80s. ugh! so let the awkward transition period begin where all i want to wear are chunky sweaters as all of my summer dresses have been put away. sticking to darker hued dresses will be my go to option until the weather can finally cool down a bit. as soon as i saw this dress when it arrived into the store, i immediately snagged my size. i normally don't gravitate towards a sheath silhouette but seeing this print made my decision easy. and although this dress doesn't have sleeves, i knew i would be able to layer it with ease...you know, when it actually gets cold. it also comes with a matching jacket that would give me major blair waldorf vibes if they were worn together!
Read Morethank goodness summer is (un)officially over...i never thought this day would come! now we can officially let the transition to fall begin. bring on the sweaters and deeper hues! this past weekend gave us a teaser of what fall is going to be like and life was good: until it became 85 degrees yesterday and all i wanted to wear was a black leather jacket. but i'm clearly over it. so on days that, i reach for this perfectly lightweight dress to get me through the day (without overheating) all while giving me just a pinch of fall vibes. and i can even see myself wearing this print again in the spring as another transition piece!
Read Morei'm back a ready to go after a much needed two-week break! but boy, did those two weeks go by fast! i'm starting back up by sharing photos from one of my favorite events of the summer: the crowns by christy event in the hamptons. christy is truly one of the sweetest people and her creations are beyond stunning...so needless to say, i always rsvp yes to all of her events! upon receiving the invite to her hamptons soirée, i grabbed my two partners in crime and began the journey out east. but not without stopping at drybar first!
