Read More'tis the season for plaid! if you’ve been following me for a while, you know it's one of my absolute favorite prints. i wear it year round but winter time plaids tend to be my favorite because that's when we can break out the festive tartan. tartan is a type of plaid originating in scotland that adheres to a certain pattern specifics. their scottish origins result in the classic red, blue and green color palettes that we so adore for christmas time. so pro tip: if you are looking for a more traditional plaid, including "tartan" in your web search will help a lot! below, i've included some of my favorite current plaid and tartan pieces for you to browse. i hope my roundup of favorite plaid holiday looks from over the years gives you some styling inspiration!

is it too late to say happy new year? haha!
after taking nearly one month off (with the exception of yesterday’s post), i’m finally back and ready for action! the end of 2018 was quite the whirlwind by closing out the year with a trip to africa and 2019 has already been jam packed with so many exciting things! i promise i will be posting all about my trip to africa soon but i seriously needed to post this sequin cape because the christmas trees behind me already date these photos…oopsies!

as i briefly mentioned here, the days leading up to christmas, i was surprised with the news that the camp we were staying at in africa did not have wifi (like i was initially told). but i’m clearly not still bitter about it….nooooooo haha!
this was the one post i was extra excited to post this year because it is my annual lotte palace hotel christmas tree shoot! this is by far my (and every other blogger in new york’s) favorite christmas tree in the city. one reason why i love this the most is that the crowds are manageable and you are able to go right up to the tree - no barricades! oh, and of course i always have fake wrapped christmas gifts…duh!
so in any case, merry christmas! i hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday with your families!

well first, oopsies! i know it’s the 26th and you’re all wondering, “why the heck is she posting this holiday content now!?” that’s a great question readers, haha! for the last week i have been on an adventure in africa and because i was told there would be wifi, i did not plan out my pre-christmas posts. unfortunately, upon arrival to my safari, i was in for a rude wake-up call when there was not only no wifi, but not even cell service!

one of my favorite things about the holidays are the opportunities to dress up! even if you’re overdressed for the dinner party, people just get it during this time of year! while i won’t officially be wearing this dress until an event back in michigan in january, this dress initially caught my eye for the annual met holiday party. i ended up re-wearing this dress from over the summer with a turtleneck underneath just because i wasn’t able to get the dress hemmed in time (but i obviously wanted to keep it long for these photos because #drama).

happy friday everyone! and more importantly, a happy black friday! i hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving yesterday but now the fun really begins: the countdown to chirstmas! while everyone is very excited to take advantage of holiday deals and deep discounts, i will spread the same message that i do every year. it’s a reminder to those who are choosing to do their shopping today in the stores, remember to be extra, extra, extra nice and patient to the sales associates and staff members. they have to work incredibly long and stressful hours today and who knows what time they had to get up this morning to get to work. and typically, the time retail workers get to spend with their families is cut short so just be aware of that before you think someone is moving a little slower than you would like (*cough looking at you new yorkers cough*).

i cannot believe christmas is finally here! it feels like this holiday season came and went in a flash! but i am so excited to finally share my last and favorite holiday outfit that i told you would have no shortage of plaid. now be sure to spend today with family and friends and have yourself a merry little christmas!
Read Moretwas the day before christmas and all through the web,
not a blogger was blogging, not even a celeb.
the glitter stockings were hung by the fireplace with care,
in the hopes that kate spade presents, soon would be there...
this holiday season, plaid has been my go-to print and it was inevitable that i bring out my favorite shirt from last christmas! this year, i decided to pair this christmas classic with the skirt that i've already worn a million times (seen here and here) and added a few extra sparkles. now i can't wait to show you all the grand finale that is plaid perfection!
Read Moreare you guys ready for a holiday outfit marathon?? well you have no choice because someone (me) chose to procrastinate this holiday season. oops! for whatever reason, this season seemed to be one of my most stressful to date and found myself frantically running around the city, both for my own holiday shoots as well as for pret.a.photo...i even visited the tree at lotte palace hotel 11 times! oh yeah and on top of that i had to buy presents for all of my family members and the gifts for each other because i have somehow become the designated family gift buyer. can you believe my parents called me within 10 minutes of each other asking what the other wanted?? well there is no time to waste so i was thankful to be able to throw on this sparkly tweed jacket with an all black outfit to be instantly holiday-ready!
Read More5 more days!! eek! and i couldn't be more obsessed with these red lace pants! don't worry, i also got them in black too! these pants are the perfect alternative to any dress/skirt for the holidays and are optimal for large meals because of the elastic waist in the back...bring on all the peppermint brownies! just add a cozy sweater and a moto jacket and you can out-style all of your relatives without looking like you're trying too hard.
Read Moreas i mentioned yesterday, plaid is going to be my obsession this holiday season. and i mean it! first up on plaid line-up is this j.crew dress that is perfect for any and all holiday festivities! and we all know how much i love a good turtleneck...stay tuned for the continuation of the countdown to christmas!!
