in today’s social media age, people are seemingly defined by their follower count. as of this week, i have around 25k followers and while that may seem like a lot to some people, my following pales in comparison to my peers…especially those in nyc. to be honest, it gets incredibly frustrating and often discouraging regardless of how hard i try not to play the comparison game. the loop giveaways are running rampant and there doesn’t seem to be any slowing down of people trying to take shortcuts. i was even told once that it was “cute” how i’ve kept my small following simply because i didn’t participate in that rubbish (sorry i’ve been watching mary poppins returns and now i think i’m british). i had a “wait, what?!?” moment haha! but what real impact does this have on me? it really comes down to brands and partnerships.

is it too late to say happy new year? haha!
after taking nearly one month off (with the exception of yesterday’s post), i’m finally back and ready for action! the end of 2018 was quite the whirlwind by closing out the year with a trip to africa and 2019 has already been jam packed with so many exciting things! i promise i will be posting all about my trip to africa soon but i seriously needed to post this sequin cape because the christmas trees behind me already date these photos…oopsies!

well first, oopsies! i know it’s the 26th and you’re all wondering, “why the heck is she posting this holiday content now!?” that’s a great question readers, haha! for the last week i have been on an adventure in africa and because i was told there would be wifi, i did not plan out my pre-christmas posts. unfortunately, upon arrival to my safari, i was in for a rude wake-up call when there was not only no wifi, but not even cell service!

one of my favorite things about the holidays are the opportunities to dress up! even if you’re overdressed for the dinner party, people just get it during this time of year! while i won’t officially be wearing this dress until an event back in michigan in january, this dress initially caught my eye for the annual met holiday party. i ended up re-wearing this dress from over the summer with a turtleneck underneath just because i wasn’t able to get the dress hemmed in time (but i obviously wanted to keep it long for these photos because #drama).

11 days until christmas and holy crap i can’t wait!
honestly, that’s all i really wanted to say and show this outfit because i’m obsessed with this dress! haha it’s seriously so comfy (no pockets though but yolo) and i’ve already worn it to a few holiday occasions this month! oh yeah, and it has a slight stretch so go crazy and eat all the foods haha

suits, recently, have been my favorite things to throw on (see here) so when i saw blair eadie’s collection had no shortage of matching suits, i couldn’t help myself but to buy one! …yeah yeah yeah okay two! and the best part about blair’s collection in collaboration with halogen, was the versatility and interchangeableness (is that even a word?) with one another so i felt so comfortable pairing this polka dotted blouse with the printed suit to complete the look!

i know it probably comes as a shock, but i actually wear jeans allllllll the time, especially when i’m photographing. and as much as i love my luxury and designer pieces, about a year and a half ago, i told myself i was never going to buy a pair of designer jeans again…because no matter how great of quality they were, they inevitably got destroyed. lesson learned!

happy tuesday everyone! i hope everyone had a wonderful labor day yesterday but unfortunately the time has come to put away all things white...
haha jokes on jokes!
but in all seriousness, my whites are not being put away for quite some time! thankfully this white gal meets glam dress is in my closet and will be incredibly versatile even when the seasons change. and of course i had to pair it with my favorite pearl tote to coordinate with the pearl detailing on the dress. pearl overkill? i think not!
now let's just continue the countdown to fall!

full disclosure: i am not at all irish...but i'm not at all mad about looking like a modern-day twenty something leprechaun in this dress. being a redhead (and irish imposter), i was always told to wear green and that it was "my color." me and my closet full of everything but green strongly disagree. but now and again, i get lucky and find just the right shade! what instantly drew me to this dress was that the base is an ivory and just the details were green: totally manageable!
