while we all may not have anywhere very important to go, that doesn’t mean we can’t make our grocery store runs and socially distanced get-togethers feel special. this summer i have constantly been drawn to suits: short suits in particular. maybe it’s just the “pretty woman” vibes that a short suit brings but i can’t help but feel chic af in them! whether it’s a monochromatic look or a printed set, short suits are easy to mix-and-match and rock any day of the week!
Read Morei am so incredibly proud my friend jenn lake and the launch of her capsule collection with sail to sable! the six dresses jenn created perfectly embody her style and eye for color and prints with sizes ranging from xxs-3x! naturally this blue striped “charlotte” dress had my name written all over it and i literally didn’t wear anything else all weekend! and on top of it all, a portion of the proceeds are going to feeding america!!
congrats again to jenn and i’m so excited to see what you do next!

i am fully aware that i keep saying this but i am so behind on my photos! especially now that my photography program is in full swing at icp, my free time for my own photos is basically non-existent at this point. so i’m finally able to feature one of my favorite and comfiest dresses of the summer! i wore this dress out east when i escaped the craziness of nyfw this season with ashley…oh yeah and it has pockets!
because i’m basically up to my eyeballs in work, i’m keeping this post short and sweet! so enjoy! haha

i know, i know…it’s no longer hydrangea season…but hey! better late than never! when i got back from my trip to rome, i found myself essentially drowning in unpublished content, which i’m aware is not necessarily the worst problem to have but i just couldn’t keep up with it all! so instead of powering through and editing all of the photos, i just let them sit there and procrastinated. i procrastinated so much that i am now posting an outfit from july…and would you believe me if i told you my last post was taken back in may??? oopsies.
dress: giambattista valli (also love the off-the-shoulder version)
shoes: raye (also have the black)

this shoot was one that i had been dying to finally get the chance to do. two years ago, i stumbled upon a little piece of provence out in long island but never got a chance to make the trek out to the north fork of the island where lavender by the bay is located. then last year when i was finally able to coordinate my schedule with dana, the lavender was gone for the season! i was devastated (i mean dramatic but still). so i was determined to never miss this one again...aka i wrote it down in my calendar last year and the waiting game began. what seemed like an eternity later, dana, elle and i finally headed out the second weekend in july when i knew the lavender was going to be at its peak and it did not disappoint!

something that has always been true about myself is that i have always loved dressing up. i even think part of the reason that i worked at kate spade for so long (on and off for about 5 years!), was because dressing up and wearing a cocktail dress to work wasn't out of the ordinary - in fact, it was weird if you didn't! thankfully i still have this blog as an excuse to continue dressing as extra as i can be and feel validated when i waltz into a vineyard wearing a gingham ballgown.
dress: fame and partners
shoes: tabitha simmons
bag: zara
hat: jacquemus (similar here)
earrings: vintage chanel (stolen from dana)
bracelets: cartier
sunglasses: linda farrow
we've been having some pretty miserable weather here in nyc but thankfully i have been escaping to the hamptons for the last few weekends! and i almost always have to drag dana out with me...but it doesn't take much convincing haha! when i'm out east, i very seldom take my camera out and work but when i got this rhode resort dress in, i couldn't help but shoot it while the hydrangeas were in bloom!
dress: rhode resort
bag: cult gaia
shoes: fendi
earrings: vanda jacintho
bracelets: cartier
sunglasses: gucci
i am anything but subtle when it comes to my love for the hamptons. i have been making the journey out east on my days off whenever i can for the last two years and i cannot believe another summer season is officially over! although, i have to admit, i am far from sad because i won't have to fight anyone for a seat on the train and it won't take me 5 hours to get home if i decide to drive...at least until next summer. but even with all of the hurdles to get out there during peak season, there is nothing like summer in the hamptons.
Read Moreno matter what time of year it is, i always love escaping the city to the hamptons. although my favorite time to journey out east is during the fall (hello pumpkin patches!), summer comes in a close second. summer is significantly more bearable for me in the hamptons simply because it is noticeably cooler than nyc: that alone is worth the 2-5 hour drive!
Read Morei'm back a ready to go after a much needed two-week break! but boy, did those two weeks go by fast! i'm starting back up by sharing photos from one of my favorite events of the summer: the crowns by christy event in the hamptons. christy is truly one of the sweetest people and her creations are beyond stunning...so needless to say, i always rsvp yes to all of her events! upon receiving the invite to her hamptons soirée, i grabbed my two partners in crime and began the journey out east. but not without stopping at drybar first!
Read Morei couldn't be happier that today is friday! mostly because this week was a completely normal work-week for me and i didn't get a long weekend for the fourth of july...retail problems. although i'm not going to the hamptons this weekend, this post has me itching to go back! this little gingham number was the perfect dress to stop by the maidstone hotel in east hampton and check out their new renovations! if you ever find yourself in search of a hotel when in the hamptons, i highly recommend the maidstone! so instead of coming to terms that i will not be out east this weekend, i will just pretend that i am!
