the hamptons // give me summer in the hamptons
i am anything but subtle when it comes to my love for the hamptons. i have been making the journey out east on my days off whenever i can for the last two years and i cannot believe another summer season is officially over! although, i have to admit, i am far from sad because i won't have to fight anyone for a seat on the train and it won't take me 5 hours to get home if i decide to drive...at least until next summer. but even with all of the hurdles to get out there during peak season, there is nothing like summer in the hamptons.
i am a far cry from a "hamptons expert" but there are a few places that i never get tired of visiting when i am out east. for starters, the lobster roll restaurant...although most people just refer to it as "lunch" for obvious reasons. a trip out to montauk is not complete without stopping at this roadside shack for the most amazing lobster roll you will ever have. there is even a gluten free menu! sitting outside here is the true epitome of how summer in the hamptons should really feel. and then, of course, once you're done with your lunch, keep on driving on the highway until you hit surf lodge for some drinks and fun for their concert series or venture farther to the beaches by the lighthouse at the "end of the world."
but a true visit to the hamptons would not be complete without stopping at wolffer. whether it's the wine stand, vineyard or any of their few restaurants, you will always be in for a fabulous experience! and in my opinion, there is no competition that the wine stand is far superior to any of the other locations. countless evenings have been spent there lounging in the grass (or if you're lucky you will get one of the very coveted tables), watching the sunset, with a bottle of rosé all while listening to live music. there is truly no greater feeling than that!
although i am sad summer is unofficially over, i was so happy to spend a few days out there with my family this past weekend soaking up the final days of the season. now, is it fall yet!?
