wandering in woodstock

welcome to woodstock! i had been dying to come back to vermont after visiting it for the first time almost three years ago! my last trip was during the summer, and although it was absolutely stunning, i was itching to come back in the winter. snow covered mountains is one of my favorite sights...because sandy beaches are so 2005. andrea and i decided to make the nearly 5-hour trek up to woodstock to get in some snow time (outside of nyc). unfortunately, on the drive up, it was pouring rain and continued to rain throughout the afternoon and evening. the michigander in me knew this only meant one thing come morning: ice...and a lot of it. thankfully it was cold enough that the snow didn't leave us completely but it was all covered with a sheet of ice. weather challenges aside, that didn't stop up from exploring the town!

the downtown area of woodstock itself was picture perfect and because we decided to stay at the woodstock inn, it was just steps away from the cute shops! our favorite was f.h. gillingham & sons! without taking into consideration the cuteness, it was our favorite because it has been run by the same family since 1886! like what!? one staff member of the woodstock inn even mentioned that it is one of the oldest same family run shops in the country! we continued to explore and drove all around the town, parking wherever we found something cute!

don't worry though, more vermont photos to come and stay tuned to hear all about our stay at the woodstock inn!
