as i mentioned yesterday, plaid is going to be my obsession this holiday season. and i mean it! first up on plaid line-up is this j.crew dress that is perfect for any and all holiday festivities! and we all know how much i love a good turtleneck...stay tuned for the continuation of the countdown to christmas!!
Read Morethe final countdown to christmas has begun but where did the time go?? anyone else feel like they have 2 more weeks to prepare? this year, my holiday closet is prepped with tons of plaid so i figured i would start with a little pinch of lace. this super romantic dress is the perfect option when you don't want to scream christmas, but still festive enough that you're family won't claim you're the grinch. now i'm off to go buy everyone's christmas presents because i'm the master at procrastination! oops!
Read Morei'm definitely a sucker for the snow! ...not always the sub-freezing temperatures but it's definitely better than being too hot. when i saw the forecast for nyc said snow this past weekend, i started preparing for magical day! new york city is the perfect backdrop to look just like a snow globe and this snowfall did not disappoint! lydia and i braved the weather to get just the right shots all while gripping my hot chocolate as it was my only source of warmth. we immediately hopped right in a restaurant when we were done shooting and treated ourselves to some ahhhmazing burgers right next to grand central station! i mean seriously...who can ask for a better day!? there is still a little bit of snow sticking around the city but i truly can't wait for the next snowfall!
Read Moreas much as i love traveling, there is nothing quite like coming home. after taking one of the longest trips i've ever been on to paris, vienna, salzburg, and hallstatt (with a few days in detroit), i was so relieved to finally be able to sleep in my own bed. all in all, i was gone for a total of 3 weeks and 3 days and carried 3 rolling bags in addition to my camera equipment all across europe. i was exhausted! but nothing can ever compare to coming home to new york. sometimes i get caught up in the craziness of the city and forget how truly wonderful this place is! so it takes a little vacation to remember that new york is my true love. i am beyond thankful that i get to live in such a creatively simulating and energetic city that is full of countless opportunities. so every time i wear this sweatshirt, it serves as a little reminder of the greatest place on earth! ...but i'm not biased.
Read Morewhile in vienna, the one thing at the top of my to-do list was to go to the opera house. the only problem? i'm not the biggest fan of opera itself. thankfully the opera house also houses the ballet and as a former ballerina, there was no hesitation when we purchased the tickets! knowing that i would be attending the ballet at the prestigious opera house, i of course had to come up with the perfect outfit. i had originally purchased this dress as a contender for the veuve clicquot polo classic in los angeles but decided against it as it was just a little bit too formal for the occasion. i'm so thankful i saved it for vienna as i truly felt like a ballerina!
Read Moreas i mentioned in this post, i have been trying to make more of a conscious effort to re-wear pieces here on the blog. some of you may remember this dress from last christmas where i wore it to my favorite nyc holiday location! and trust me, i have been finding every excuse to wear it since! because the holidays are quickly approaching, i thought it was about time to bring this bad boy out of the closet to get myself in the holiday spirit while in paris. this time around, i had the cutest little sidekick that paired perfectly with the red lace - and it even has a crossbody strap to use when i'm running around town! i threw it on with my current favorite over the knee boots and it gave this dress just a pinch of a casual feel so that i could wear it all day long!
Read Morewas this jacket love at first sight?? absolutely. i first spotted this jacket when it was roughly 150°f in nyc and i couldn't quite justify the price tag in the middle of july. so i waited. and waited. but i never forgot about my true love. that wasn't until tory burch had their friends and family sale that i pounced. the jacket is a mixture of embroidery and beading that is truly a piece of art. although i was eager to strut around town in it, i knew i needed to save it for my trip to paris! and i think we can all agree that it was worth the wait!
Read Moreas mentioned here, part of my reasoning behind my stop in paris was to re-do some of my photos and this was one location that could not be missed! the palais-royal is known for it's black and white art installation and even my first time here, i couldn't help but wear a black and white outfit! the moment i saw this dress, i immediately knew it was going to be coming with me to paris. in total i wore this dress 4 times on my trip! which is a world record for me. the reasoning? it is the comfiest dress i own! seriously! i feel like i am wearing pajamas!
Read Morehappy monday everyone! i am so excited to continue sharing my posts and outfits from paris. during my trip, i was so thankful i packed this max mara dress because it was so comfortable to wear right when i landed! ...and because it isn't as acceptable to wear your pajamas in public like it is in the us. and if you have been following me on instagram/instastories, you know that i have been living in these boots since i bought them! seriously one of my best purchases of the year! stay tuned for more of my parisian adventures!
Read Moreas many of you know, these past few weeks i have been traveling like a crazy person all over europe. and i literally mean crazy because i had about 10 bags with me. but well before i left for europe, i was sure to get into the parisian mindset as paris was going to be my first stop! adding the smallest of accessory of this café scene scarf to my outfits before i left made me feel forever chic. oh, and i can't forget my little champs-élysées charm! i seriously cannot wait to start sharing all of my adventures from europe!
Read Morepink is clearly my favorite color and you don't have to tell me twice to completely wear it from head to toe. even on the streets of new york when everyone features their best black clothing this time of year, you can always spot me strutting down the street in my favorite pink coat! at the moment, i have 6 pink coats in my collection (this being #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #6 will be in my post from austria and i'm not even counting this one) and i have to constantly remind myself when i go into store that i don't need another. ugh. but nonetheless, pink, in my eyes, is a neutral and will forever be incorporated into my outfits as frequently as possible. so be a ray of sunshine and wear your favorite color from head to toe! the whole world will be thankful for it!
Read Morehappy monday everyone! with the temperatures quickly dropping, i knew i needed to get in a few more dresses before i left for my trip to europe (posts will start next week!!). and although we all know i'm a sucker for polkadots, the silhouette of this dress was far outside my comfort zone. i am typically one for a classic fit and flare shape but the little flip at the bottom of this dress was too good to pass up! oh, and the fact that it was under $50! i just added my favorite taxi clutch into the mix and i was good to go! i hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead!
Read Morethis season, i have been making more of a conscious effort to mix and match pieces that i already own and try to incorporate them into my current fall wardrobe. i absolutely loved wearing this coat last year and this dress back when i was in london...and of course i had to pair these pieces with my latest obsession: these green over the knee boots! when i say i have already worn these boots to death, i mean it. i'm strongly considering buying a second pair (in addition the the black pair i already purchased).
Read Morei am never not ready for the holidays...seriously! now that halloween is over, we can focus on what's truly important: christmas!! christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and i couldn't be happier that it is just around the corner. with the holidays approaching, the invites to the plethora of holiday events, parties, and just any excuse to put on a sparkly dress are right around the corner and this sparkle tweed dress has me ready for every single one of them! tweed is one of those fabrics that you can't help but feel sophisticated in and you know i'm going to be wearing it until it is 90 degrees again.
Read Morei think we all know i'm not one to shy away from a fabulous and fun pair of heels but there are days when my feet just need a little break! and thus, i bring out the statement flat. a girl's trusty sidekick for being comfy yet still sparkly for any occasion. while organizing my shoes recently, i stumbled back upon this pair of that i bought about 2/3 years ago and completely forgot about! thankfully this striped dress paired so perfectly with them and gave me an excuse to break them back out!
Read Morei cannot believe it has nearly been two weeks since dana and i headed to los angeles for the veuve clicquot polo classic! this was the first time i ventured to this city on the west coast and truly didn't know what to expect. all i knew is that i need to stop at "the lampposts" and stuff my face at in-n-out burger. it was a short trip so time was limited but i made sure we carved out enough time to wake up at the crack of dawn to head over to the lacma where the posts are located. and don't worry...in-n-out burger was not long after!
Read Morewednesday workwear never felt so good! i randomly stumbled upon this stunning (and comfortable) top and knew it would quickly become a staple in my wardrobe. for the first time wearing the top, i wanted to switch out my traditional skirts to pair it with a set of wide leg culottes. feminine lace paired with menswear inspired houndstooth pants!? yes please!! be prepared to see it many more times on the blog. #noshame
Read Morelast week was such an amazing week as i spent the a few days in los angeles with dana for the veuve clicquot polo classic! as many of you know, this event is dana and myself's favorite event of the year in nyc so we were beyond excited to attend the classic on the opposite coast. of course, more details will come but i am so happy to be headed home today to the cooler temperatures. and with cooler temperatures in nyc means that i can finally start breaking out the long sleeves and coats that have been locked up for the summer! who else is thrilled that it is finally starting to feel like fall!? i hope everyone has an amazing monday!!
